04/05/2015 One of the great contemporary musicians. Still can't believe he's not with us. Not a week goes by without some thought or memory of his wonderful playing entering my mind. Someone who made a difference - And certainly made my teenage years more bearable with his art.

22/04/2015 Just came across a Joan Armatrading song where Mick played bass. Outstanding job as always. Still a sort of shock to realise he is not around anymore. Luckily, his musical heritage never ends. Love you, Mick. Love to his family.

23/02/2015 I remember discovering Japan aged around 14 in 1981...here I am now ..Still listening to their music 30 odd years later.I have of course followed the solo careers in particular those of David and Mick. Its terribly sad that Mick is no longer with us ...my heart goes out to his family .I loved his fretless bass...I loved his style...he was so important in Japan ..for the depth in the music ..he was unparalleled in his talent. Rest In Peace Mick x

05/01/2015 Well, I spent whole day, yesterday to listen to your recorded materials and talk about you on the net. It's been four years since you passed away. It is still difficult for me to accept the fact and every time I think of you, I cry very hard. I remember your eyes. I had a chance to talk to you after the Bestial Cluster Tour in Tokyo. Your big eyes were so powerful and made me speechless. I just gave you my letter and said something like "Please read it if you have time." Your answer was "I always read fan letters" Did you read my letter, Mick? Did you understand my passion and feelings for you and your music? My love for you would never ever fade away. R. I. P. Mick, my most favorite bass player.

04/01/2015 Remembering Mick Karn on the fourth anniversary of his passing today. Passionate eulogies and outpouring of love globally online via Team Mick Karn and other FB sites have been extraordinary to witness. So many testimonies from people inspired to create by him. Frequently the word 'genius' has been applied. I'm sure his legacy will continue to gather momentum bringing such a harvest with it. Dear Mick, thank you Xxx

18/11/2014 I first heard Mick's playing in the context of Dalis Car. I was immediately interested and began to search for his other recordings. I grew up listening to arabic / turkish music, and Mick's musical sensibilities really resonated with me. I am primarily an electric guitarist, but I found his playing so inspiring that I decided to study fretless bass , and spent quite a bit of time learning / transcribing his parts. I have a pretty big collection of Mick's recordings, and regard him as one of my favorite musicians on the planet. I had the good fortune to exchange some electronic communication with Mick in 1999-2000, and asked him about his approach to playing and composing. I found that both insightful and a little mysterious; I came away with the impression that music was a creative force that played *him*. Mick's fans are a special group of people who gravitate to his music, and each of us has a favorite project / recording. I know we all feel a sense of loss at Mick's passing, and am thankful for all he shared with us. He had a unique voice, and wove some beautiful musical tapestries.

18/11/2014 What a great website promoting Mick Karns work.I love it.Mick was one of the most original artists of the 20th & 21st Centuries. No questioning that.I was reading his book today.I found a statement he made on one of the pages. He said someone had mentioned he was the best bass player in the world. He felt you could not be the best in the world at anything. He wanted to be seen as an original bass player. Not the best in the world as such.No one on this planet plays bass guitar like Mick did.Original is not good enough to describe him.Monumental bass player I think might be.You looked at times other worldly Mick.So was your bass playing. Very glad you arrived in my life time.

12/11/2014 Since my first pivotal listening experience, back in 1987, his music became the irreplaceable soundtrack to my life. Until his truly magnificent and unfairly overlooked last album "The Concrete Twin". I've always considered him as a unique artist and not just as the great bassist he was too. And that's how he should be remembered. Thank you, Mick! I'm so grateful for the beauty of your art and, last but not least, for your integrity. I'll never forget you. And your sound will live on.

04/11/2014 I am having an all things ' Mick' sort of day. I am not sure why, but of all the artists I treasure, the loss of Mick left a profound sadness. I think it may be the fact that I regard him as a true ' artist' - someone who had to create, whether it found an audience or not. Bless your memory Mick.

02/11/2014 We have lost a truly original musician who has given my family so many pleasures over the years, from the very early days of new wave to the later years of jazz and mind blowing innovative music that defied pigeonholing. There are many musical treasures that I must search out. Natacha atlas being one of them. He r voice is divine. Thank you Mick for all of the good times that you gave us.
